Distribución Perturbadora
[ES] El taller se plantea como un espacio de experimentación enfocado a pensar qué es la distribución y cómo se puede intervenir artísticamente en ella.
La distribución entendida como la circulación de una mercancía desde su lugar de producción hasta su lugar de consumo, es en muchas ocasiones un espacio/tiempo difuso y opaco tramado de una red de intermediarios cuya actividad y procesos apenas intuimos y que afectan a la forma y contenido de esta mercancía, favoreciendo su almacenamiento, transportabilidad, durabilidad y venta.
Desde los años 60, toda una serie de prácticas artísticas se centraron en subvertir los canales por los que el arte se distribuía habitualmente, generando tanto nuevas formas como sus propios circuitos de distribución. En la actualidad, las nuevas tecnologías e Internet han llevado la distribución de contenidos a un nivel inimaginable; sin embargo, la distribución física sigue siendo un espacio crucial dentro de nuestro sistema económico.
El taller quiere ahondar en las posibilidades de la distribución física como espacio para la práctica artística, ya sea desde la creación de nuevos canales o bien desde la intervención en redes ya establecidas. |

Perturbing Distribution
[ENG] The workshop is considered as a space of experimentation focused on thinking about the distribution and how it can be artistically involved in it.
The workshop considered as a space of experimentation focused on thinking about and what is the distribution and how to intervene artistically in it.
The distribution understood as the circulation of a goods from its place of production to the place of consumption, is in many cases a diffused and opaque space / time woven in a network of intermediaries whose activity and processes we barely intuit and which affect the shape and content of this merchandise, favoring its storage, transportability, durability and sale.
Since the 1960s, a whole serie of artistic practices have focused on subverting the channels through which art was usually distributed, generating both new forms as their own distribution channels. In the present, new technologies and the Internet have led the distribution of contents to an unimaginable level; however, physical distribution remains crucial within our economic system.
The workshop wants to delve into the possibilities of physical distribution as a space for artistic practice, either the creation of new channels or as the intervention in existing networks. |
[ES] Tres áreas temáticas forman los contenidos del taller:
Distribución legal/ ilegal/ alternativa: A partir del visionado de diferentes materiales se dará a conocer el funcionamiento de algunos de los principales circuitos de distribución internacionales. Sus implicaciones geopolíticas y económicas, su tecnología y logística, sus límites legales y su imaginario. Contraponiéndolo, por un lado, a las redes de distribución de mercancías prohibidas y sus estrategias de ocultación y parasitación dentro de sistemas de distribución legales, y por otro lado, a su capacidad de generar redes de distribución propias. Arte distribución: Partiendo del mail art y los libros de artista como prácticas que instauraron canales alternativos a los hasta entonces establecidos dentro del medio artístico, intentaremos construir colectivamente una genealogía del “arte-distribución” que incluya desde las “inserciones en circuitos ideológicos” de Cildo Meireles hasta las más recientes obras alrededor de Fedex de Walead Besthy. Desaparecer. Sacar de circulación: Nuestras vidas están insertas en diferentes canales distributivos de los que apenas somos conscientes. Intentaremos vislumbrar cuáles son esas redes distributivas: económicas, administrativas, afectivas… y analizaremos las estrategias que algunos artistas han desarrollado para evidenciarlas o bien para sustraerse de estas, desapareciendo.
[ES] Three thematic areas form the contents of the workshop:
Legal / illegal / alternative distribution: From the viewing of different materials the functioning of some of the main international distribution circuits will be revealed. Its geopolitical and economic implications, its technology and logistics, its legal limits and its imaginary. On one hand, it opposes the networks of distribution of prohibited goods and their strategies of concealment and parasitization within legal distribution systems, and on the other hand, their ability to generate their own distribution networks. Distribution arte: Starting with mail art and artist's books as practices that established alternative channels to those previously established within the artistic medium, we collectively try to construct an "art-distribution" genealogy that includes from the "insertions in ideological circuits" of Cildo Meireles until The most recent works around Fedex by Walead Besthy. Disappear. Out of circulation: Our lives are embedded in different distributive channels of which we are barely conscious. We will try to glimpse what these distributive networks are: economic, administrative, affective ... and we will analyze the strategies that some artists have developed to show them or to escape from them, disappearing. |
